Andrew Williams is an international performing and recording artist on trombone, known for his expertise in jazz improvisation, stylistic interpretation, and traditional orchestral and concert performance. His teachers and mentors include George Osborn (Rochester Philharmonic), Per Brevig (Metropolitan Opera), Edwin Anderson (Cleveland Orchestra), David Baker (Jazz Pedagogue) and Slide Hampton (Jazz Trombonist). He has performed internationally with the bands of Freddie Hubbard, Slide Hampton and Claudio Roditi, as well as NYC appearances with countless stars including Wynton and Branford Marsalis, Frank Foster, Milt Jackson, Jon Hendricks and Jimmy Heath. His extensive musical theater experience includes Broadway (NYC) productions of Annie, Chicago and Miss Saigon, as well as international and U.S. Tours of Saturday Night Fever, Grease, and West Side Story. Andrew can be heard on many CD recordings, most notably with Andy Farber (Double A), Slide Hampton (Inclusion), The New Jazz Composers Octet (First Steps Into Reality) and Ann Hampton Callaway (To Ella With Love). Currently he is nearly as busy performing orchestral and concert music as jazz, appearing on Principal Trombone with the Syracuse Symphony, Binghamton Philharmonic, and Tri Cities Opera.
